What is Biomechanics

In relation to podiatry biomechanics is the way in which the muscles, bones and joints of the feet and lower limb interact and move. We look at functionality specifically in terms of impact absorption and propulsion.

What are the benefits of Biomechanics

Biomechanics is the study of how we move and how alignment of joints, tendons, muscles and bones relate to each other during movement. Efficient biomechanics are essential to fluid and efficient movement and prevention of injury. If your biomechanics are inefficient it can contribute to overuse and stress related injuries as your body tries to compensate for the poor alignment.
